Chatbox Integration ​

A powerful, easy-to-install cross-platform chat client for large language models, connecting to Calgine Tokens via an OpenAI-compatible provider.

Chatbox is a popular cross-platform chat client for large language models, available on desktop, mobile, and web. Beyond basic AI chat, it offers Artifact code previews, chart generation, document understanding, web page parsing, and more.

Prerequisites ​

  1. Sign up at the Calgine Tokens Console.
  2. Go to Workspace → API Tokens, click "Add Token", and copy the API Key once created (starts with sk-).

Installation & Configuration ​

  1. Install Chatbox: Visit the Chatbox website in your browser to download and install the client for your platform.

  2. Add a provider: Open Settings → Model Provider, create a new provider, and fill in:

    • API Mode: Select OpenAI API Compatible
    • API Host: https://api.calgine.com.cn
    • API Path: /v1
    • API Key: Paste the API token you created in the console
    • Models: Add the models you want to use, e.g., gpt-4o, gpt-4o-mini

  3. Save the settings and return to the main interface.

Verify the Setup ​

Start a new conversation, select the model you just added, and send any message (e.g., "Hello"). A normal response means the integration is working.

Tips ​

  • Artifact preview: After AI generates code for a webpage or mini-game, you can preview the running result directly inside Chatbox.
  • Chart generation: Use the "Make Charts" assistant to create mind maps, flowcharts, and statistical charts. Pair it with a more capable model (like gpt-4o) for better results.
  • Document & image understanding: Send documents, images, or web links to the AI for discussion.
