Immersive Translation is a highly rated bilingual side-by-side web translation plugin. Powered by large language models for cross-language understanding, it works for web reading, PDF translation, EPUB e-book translation, bilingual video subtitles, and more, with support for all major browser extensions and mobile apps. Combined with translation models on the Calgine Tokens platform, it significantly improves translation speed and accuracy.

Prerequisites

1. Sign up at the Calgine Tokens Console.
2. Go to Workspace → API Tokens, click "Add Token", and copy the API Key once created (starts with sk-).

Installation & Configuration

1. Install the browser extension: On the Immersive Translation website, choose "Install Browser Extension" and follow the prompts for your browser. Skip this step if already installed.

2. Add a custom translation service: Click the Immersive Translation extension icon, then go to Settings → Translation Services → Add Custom Translation Service → Custom AI.

3. Fill in the connection details:

   • Custom service name: Anything you like, e.g., Calgine Tokens
   • Custom API endpoint (Base URL): https://api.calgine.com.cn/v1
   • API Key: Paste the API token you created in the console
   • Model name: A text model supported by Calgine Tokens. We recommend the lightweight gpt-4o-mini for translation — fast and cost-effective

Verify the Setup

1. After saving, click "Test Service" in the upper right of the settings page. A passing test means the integration is working.
2. Open any foreign-language webpage and start translating with the plugin — the page will display bilingual side-by-side content.
